Breed History
This popular designer dog was developed by crossing a Siberian Husky with a Pomeranian and was believed to have originated around 2009 in the United States and it is mainly bred through artificial insemination in order to avoid complications. This designer dog earned a reputation as the best designer dog in 2017.
Temperament
Being a mixed breed, the Pomsky inherits desirable traits from both Siberian Huskies and Pomeranians. It is highly intelligent, playful and self-assured. It requires a lot of playtime and will resort to chewing when not paid adequate attention.
Pomsky is energetic, loyal and bonds well with its family however, unexpected behaviors will cause it to bark loudly. Without mincing words, the Pomsky is a combination of funny, sweet, mischievous and happy.
Environment
A Pomsky is a cute breed that does not take up much space and it does well in any environment as long as it is with a family who can put in the time and effort needed for its well being. It has a soft and long coat that provides this warmth even in cold environments; this notwithstanding, a Pomsky should be kept indoors.
Exercise
Pomsky requires regular exercise in order to keep it happy and healthy. At least 20 minutes’ walk in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon is required for the Pomsky. In addition to the walks, play sessions during the day also help to keep your Pomsky active and healthy.
Grooming
The Pomsky possesses a fur coat that keeps it warm and as a result, it sheds easily. This will require more grooming on the part of its owner, this in return leads to bonding between dog and owner. Regular brushing of the Pomskies coat keeps it clean and tangle-free, it also removes dead cells and increases the blood flow. While regular bathing might be good, it can also be harmful to the Pomskies coat oil if done too frequently. Its ears and eyes should be regularly cleaned to prevent infections.
Our Pomsky puppies for sale come from either USDA licensed commercial breeders or hobby breeders with no more than 5 breeding mothers. USDA licensed commercial breeders account for less than 20% of all breeders in the country.
